One of the best things about December is the many parties and events to attend.
Last night I attended the Larry. Loves COMPASS(ION) event at Guilt & Co in Gastown, hosted by ION Magazine and Larry designs, a part fashion/ part music show with all the proceeds going to Convenant House in Vancouver. It was the perfect Sunday night: a cool, crisp evening, yet warm enough to walk about, drinks and some yummy food, the company of a best friend who came with me, great knit scarves and throws being casually modeled throughout the evening, and soulful live music in the background. Terri Potratz, founder and designer of Larry, also gorgeous and exuberant, told me she was excited to put on a show like this: one where people can mingle and chill, where her fashions are displayed in a more informal way, and where every cent of the night’s profits benefit those in need. Although initially amazed by Potratz’s Larry designs (think heavy, soft, chunk-knit scarves, wrap around you three times at least, in the most luxurious earthy colors), her amiable character and zealous nature make her simply charming. Officially I was won over by the adorable Larry knit necklaces also on display, and one could say that this first weekend of December, I fell in love.
