LIVE ON COFFEE AND FLOWERS

Shorts: Old Navy, Shirt: Gap, Shoes: Roberto Vianni, Ring: Aldo, Fishbone Necklace: from my uncle

I swear it felt like Spring today, yet still not warm enough to wear shorts. Not even paired with furry shoes. It is one month until the BMO Vancouver Marathon and I've got butterflies already. I am putting some indulgences aside for the month of April so that I feel my best for the big day. Except for staying out late, not giving that up, especially since there are a few things coming soon that I cannot wait to go to.
April 9 is Felix Cartal at the Beban Auditorium in Nanaimo, and I sure am making the trek out there for that show (the loyal sister I am).
April 16 is Portage and Main at The Red Room in Vancouver, and if you have not listened to these guys yet you have no idea what you're missing. Check them out here.
Joyeux avril!

NO MATTER HOW IT ENDS, NO MATTER HOW IT STARTS

Shirt: H&M, Pants: Roots, Rings: Banana Republic & Aldo, Necklaces: Coach, from Spain, and handmade

I had an intense craving for ice cream after my school's Spring Concert last night. When I was little, my family would often get DQ Blizzards post school functions. I am pretty sure my appetitive subconscious was making this connection for me. There are no easily accessible Dairy Queens in downtown Vancouver, so I had to settle for Haagen Dazs, eating ice cream straight out of the container, (which was still just as satisfying). The teachers performed a song and dance to Born To Be Wild, so I wore what I thought was appropriately wild for an elementary school concert. During the student numbers, I felt like a mother, standing at the side of the theater taking a million pictures of her kids up on stage. Although, I guess I do have kids, sixty-eight of them to be exact, and tonight I could not have been more proud of them all.

TO BE REAL IS TO UNDERSTAND

Found these romper pyjamas crazy on sale at Club Monaco. In the summer I think I would be pretty tempted to wear them as an actual outfit, like out in public. I also imagined them being perfect summer camping sleepwear, until I remembered that camping often involves cold, grimy washrooms (if there are any) and those do not go well with pyjama-onesies. They are cute, but also super awkward.

RECKLESS ABANDON LIKE NO ONE'S WATCHING YOU

Spring Break Days 6, 7, and 8. Whistler skiing. Late night dancing. Homemade pizza, midday girly movies, and lounging around in our pyjamas until we had to change into real clothes to leave the house. I love how my gorgeous friend is totally disinterested in the swarm of boys around her. Such a heartbreaker.

GIVE ME A REASON TO GET OUT OF THE CITY

Spring Break Days 3, 4, and 5. To the Sunshine Coast to just chill out. Photos of the ferry, snowshoeing at Dakota Ridge, hiking to Skookumchuck narrows, random foresty areas, the bead shop I love, the average amount of jewelry I bring for a two-day trip, and Pender Harbour. Man I love time off.

ALL THE COLORS BLEED INTO ONE

Vancouver Fashion Week is having a contest to win tickets to one of their shows. The deal? Dress yourself in a monochromatic outfit. I am only allowed one picture for the Vancouver Fashion Week contest, although I took a bunch more. How to help me win: click Like on VFW's facebook page and click Like on my photo. Thanks for your votes!

DIDN'T WANT TO BE YOUR GHOST

Jeans: American Eagle, Shirt: Urban Outfitters, Blazer: Talula, Necklace: Le Chateau, Rings: Banana Republic, Bag: Meat & Bread

Spring Break Day 1: It's pouring rain. Typical Vancouver. So it seemed a good day to sleep in and then get take-out lunch from Meat & Bread. If you have not been to this little Gastown jewel of a restaurant, you have no idea what you are missing. It also seemed a good day to wear all black, mostly. Save for a few white stripes and colorful fingers, I would say my outfit fit in with today's weather quite well.

HOW WE SWALLOW THE SUN

Tripped over to West Vancouver this morning, found these boots ridiculously cheap at Old Navy. It is such a gorgeous Sunday in Vancouver today, a good start to my Spring Break (and it actually feels like Spring). I am heading out for a few days to the Sunshine Coast, not the most glamorous of vacations but will sure to be relaxing. Sometimes you just have to get away, even if it's just a short getaway.

CUT THE BONDS WITH THE MOON

I am such a sucker for stuff like this, super-moons and eclipses and meteor showers and beautiful sunsets. I had to walk out to where there would be less light from Vancouver's bustling city, and was able to find a sweet spot near the Pan Pacific. Four shots on four different settings.
