IT'S IN THE WATER, IT'S IN THE STORY

Today was the first day in a long time that I bought both parts of a bathing suit that match, top and bottom. I usually only buy seperates, random patterns and colors, mixing and matching. With weekends of camping coming up (and hopefully warm-enough weather to get a tan *fingers crossed*), these pieces will definitely make their debut.

I have been sick all week, although still trying to get out and do stuff. This little black slip came part of a dress, but I've been mixing it with so many other things lately. It is the perfect layering piece, under or over other clothes, and très comfy. It also makes outfit selections super easy, especially when recently all I can focus on is getting a good night's sleep and getting my voice back...

I'LL TRY TO BE MORE ROMANTIC

I've been in some kind of mood lately, one of buying lots of things for summer and making lots of things for music concerts and watching so many Canucks games and keeping busy with anything possible. A recent purchase: this floral blazer, an absolute must, especially for travelling, light and easy to pack and goes with everything. Two recent designs: this gold dress, still in need of some embellishments I have yet to sew on, and this necklace, another must, especially for hippie-dressing Sasquatch coming up in three weeks.

After I bought this coat, I went home and tried it on with all kinds of outfits. It works with everything. It's made from a really heavy organic material, so it never wrinkles and drapes perfectly. Perhaps the most wearable, versatile, and classic piece of clothing I own. I'm so in love.

May is here, summer is almost. Two months of school left and I am already packing for trips that are planned. Camping, Sasquatch, Quebec City, Toronto, and New York.. all within reaching distance. I feel like if I start packing for them now, they will get here faster...

Have needed new jeans for a while, and then found them in the form of flares surprisingly. They're really long though, so I always have to wear heels with them. Which, obviously, is totally fine with me.

WORK IT MAKE IT DO IT MAKES US HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER

One of the best feelings of my life. Rounding that 37 kilometre corner, something jumpstarted inside me and I took off, picking up speed, I felt outside my body, my mind coaching my legs that forgot I had already ran 37 kilometres and convincing my heart that 5 kilometres to go was easy, nothing could stop me, over the bridge, through the streets, seeing that finish line banner and sprinting out of pure happiness right to the end. I will never forget it.

WHEN I WOKE UP THIS MORNING, YOU WERE ON MY MIND

Although that is a huge understatement. It has been on my mind every morning I have woken up for the past four months, every night before I go to bed, everything I put into my body, everytime I put on my runners, everytime I step onto the pavement or a treadmill or a yoga mat, everytime I make a new workout playlist, everytime someone asks me why I don't stay out late to party or why I don't order dessert or why I don't have a beer with dinner. I can't tell if I am excited or nervous or eager or scared, but I always keep this in mind: there will be days you don't think you can run a marathon; there will be a lifetime of knowing you have.

Happy Easter! No treats for me until the marathon is over, so I decorated my fingers in candy-like fashion instead. Saving chocolate for May 1st is absolute torture.

Perfect day. Gorgeous sunshine, a sailboat ride in English Bay, and crab caught for dinner. Not yet tanning weather but getting close. Still feel that rocking motion if I sit still, I love that feeling.
