HALF OF MY HEART'S GOT A GRIP ON THE SITUATION

Shirt: Gap, Shorts: French Connection, Shoes: Opening Ceremony

Flight home connected in Seattle and instead of waiting six hours for the next flight to Vancouver, my brother picked me up. But apparently my luggage did want to wait six hours, it took the flight without me, and then never made it... Beyond frustrating losing luggage, especially when all your travel goodies are in it. At least my carry-on contained all my new shoes, switched the pairs I was wearing yesterday four times just to try out different ones in Vancouver. These Opening Ceremony cut-out wedges are amazing comfy, and put me up about four inches higher than usual, and stopped traffic down Granville Street...

CAUGHT A BOLT OF LIGHTNING, CURSED THE DAY HE LET IT GO

Last day in New York took the ferry to Staten Island and back to see the Statue of Liberty. Flying home last night we flew through a lightning storm, never seen lightning like that before, probably one of the coolest things ever. Many thunder and lightning storms while I was out east, so different than Vancouver, kept trying to take pictures of them but photographing lightning is almost impossible. Perhaps some things should be left to our own memories, that no one but you saw or experienced. Makes those memories extra special, because you know what it meant to you and how you felt at that time, and no one can take that away from you.

THESE STREETS WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BRAND NEW

Brunch this morning at a place that serves bottomless mimosas. Shopping in Chinatown and Soho to buy a fake Longchamp bag to pack all the stuff I've bought here, can't even come close to stuffing everything into my suitcase. Jewelry purchased from street vendors. Ground Zero and the Brooklyn Bridge and the happiest feeling that I finally made it to New York but the saddest feeling that I leave tomorrow and I don't want to...

I WANT TO WAKE UP IN A CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS

Shirt: AllSaints, Skirt: Zara, Shoes: Aldo

Have moved from uptown west side to downtown east side, love how different the areas are. So happy to shop at AllSaints finally, have been back a couple more times because once is obviously not enough. Found a loosely-fit shirt that, depending on how you wear it, could be a shirt or a sweater. Perfect for this hot, humid weather, feels like it's just floating around me. Bought shoes from Opening Ceremony that I'll show you a bit later, I'm so in love with them. Not a cloud in the sky tonight so I think I'll finally get to wear them...
Pictures of various things and views of the city, the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, the Flatiron Building, and the Guggenheim. And my new shirt...

IN NEW YORK YOU CAN FORGET, FORGET HOW TO SIT STILL

Walked all day today until I couldn't anymore. Saw so many buildings and museums and shops but feel like I haven't even seen half of what's here. Maybe a bit weird, but my favourite part of New York so far is crossing the streets, actually. Pedestrians never wait for the walk signal, and you can tell who the tourists are because they wait for red lights. Everyone walks like they gotta get somewhere fast, gotta beat everyone else, gotta beat the cars and cabs that are flying in your direction. I've got the hang of it though. Trying best to not seem like a tourist even when taking photos of everything interesting I see, and act like I belong here, which I think I kinda do.

Pictures from the Museum of Natural History, Rockefeller Center, the New York Public Library, Central Park, the Museum of Modern Art, treats throughout the day, and new shoes.
